How Do You Know if Your Facebook Account Has Been Hacked? Antivirus Software
Here is a small post which, despite what its title may suggest, does not aim to make its readers sink into a state of irreversible paranoia ... It is rather a question of suggesting a few simple gestures, which can make it possible to ensure that no malicious activity has been carried out on your Facebook account.
If the cases remain rare, a username and a password, as complex as they are, can sometimes be the object of targeted attacks on the part of hackers of various horizons. This will be even easier if these codes are the same on several sites (mailbox, computer session, social networks ...) because for malicious people, hacking one indirectly opens access to others. The main risks are the loss of control of your personal data or even identity theft.
Quick check
Hence the need to take a look at the effective security of your profile. How to proceed? First, log into your Facebook account, then click on the padlock icon, located at the top right of the page. In the drop-down menu that then appears, ignore the three options offered and choose the link at the bottom entitled "show more settings". A larger page then occupies the screen. Then click on "security", here accompanied by a shield-like logo, in the left column.
Several settings are available to you on the right. You will have to choose "modify" next to the phrase " active sessions ". This manipulation normally allows you to see from which places you recently accessed Facebook. If one of them doesn't tell you anything (again, this is an extremely rare occurrence) someone knows your username and password and is connecting to this profile without your knowledge. In this situation, it is better to change them immediately, before the intruder decides to do it before you, and thus deprive you of access to your own account.
Additional protection
Anyway, before closing these different menus, it may be interesting to opt for a secure https connection, like what is practised on the bank or online commerce sites. To do this, go back one step and activate "use a secure connection for Facebook when possible" in the "security" tab.
Antivirus safe and protect your pc with antivirus software.
You are thus armed against unscrupulous spies!
