HackerOne unveils the “Hacker-Powered Security Report 2020”, which deciphers the latest trends in ethical hacking around the world. This report reveals that hackers have detected over 180,000 vulnerabilities in one year via the HackerOne platform. A figure that has doubled in just one year and represents more than a third of all vulnerabilities detected since the launch of the platform, confirming the growing interest of organizations for collaborative security.

As a result of the pandemic, more than a third of organizations around the world (36% of respondents) have stepped up their digital initiatives, in particular, to support remote working. This accelerated digital transformation has given rise to new vulnerabilities: 30% of organizations have confirmed an increase in cyber attacks since the start of the health crisis, and hackers have reported 28% more software vulnerabilities per month. Internal security managers are more concerned than ever about the impact of cyber attacks, with 64% of them believing that their organization is now more exposed to cyber threats.
