Phishing is a technique whereby the fraudster makes the victim believe that he is addressing a trusted third party, in order to steal confidential information (password, credit card number, etc.) to embezzle funds. The scam is most frequently based on the forgery of a website. The Modus Operandi and Consequences of Phishing 

You receive an email, an SMS from a malicious person who masquerades as your operator. By clicking on the link in the fraudulent message, you are automatically referred to a counterfeit web page bearing the operator's logo. Confident, you spontaneously communicate the information requested from you, in particular the username, password and / or bank card number.

What are the Right Reflexes to Protect Yourself From Phishing?

Take into account the advice on the site of your operator,

Always check the identity of your interlocutor,

Make sure that the site address (its URL) is the usual address of the contact person or the organization concerned,

Give priority to entering personal information (bank details, identifiers, etc.) on secure websites. Please note, the padlock that appears in the browser and the site address which begins with Https instead of http, do not guarantee that the site is not a fake,

Adopt the golden rule of never communicating your personal information (secret code, bank details, etc.) to anyone,

Regularly change passwords which must be sufficiently complex,

Do not click on links contained in e-mails,

Scam attempts by phishing can be reported on the PHAROS platform ( www.internet-signalement.gouv.fr ), the official portal for reporting illegal Internet content or on the site www.phishing-initiative.com


It is also possible to register for free on the site www.signal-spam.fr and to download an extension for the messaging software or the browser.
